COVID-19 Industry Response

COVID-19 Industry Response

Picture
When the COVID-19 pandemic upended industries nationwide, CRBRA was a fierce advocate for residential building in the Capital Region. I'm proud of how we were able to maintain open lines of communication with our members, relentlessly tracking the situation and providing the most relevant information. Here are some of the ways we have been fighting on your behalf:
  • Took the lead providing almost daily updates covering the latest information from Governor Cuomo and Empire State Development.
  • Instituted several letter-writing campaigns to Empire State Development, local legislators and members of the Capital Region Control Room, which opened the door to important follow-up contact with these influencers.
  • Created a Reopening Task Force that curated the necessary information to create safety protocols and related materials.
As we continue to navigate these unprecedented times, we’ll continue to be an advocate and resource for this industry and our members. We’re looking forward to when we’ll be able to see you at an event in the “new normal!”

Round Two of the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) is open for both first and second draws. Contact your local lender to discuss and apply.

NY Forward Phase One

The Capital Region reopened for Phase One on Wednesday, May 20. As a part of the reopening, each employer must complete and/or implement the following:
  1. Read and affirm that you understand your obligation to operate in accordance with the NY Forward guidance. Click here for the detailed guidelines. The link to affirm the guidelines is on the last page of the document or can be found here. (Note: Some county offices are requiring proof you've affirmed the guidance.)

  2. Develop a safety plan for your company. NY Forward provided a safety plan template that you can download in fillable format here.

  3. Print and hang CRBRA's COVID-19 preventative measures door sign (right) and post it on all your job sites. (Safety Template: Section II. Places, C. Communication, #1)

  4. Print and/or electronically distribute the sample health assessment questionnaire to employees to be completed and returned daily. (Safety Template: Section III. Process, A. Screening, #1)

  5. Create and maintain cleaning logs that document date, time and scope of cleaning at each job site or business location.

  6. Develop and maintain a continuous log of every person, including workers and visitors, who may have close contact with other individuals at the work site or area. (Deliveries performed with appropriate PPE or through contactless means and customers are excluded from the required logging.)

The Capital Region Forward plan indicates an online portal is forthcoming where each business will have to complete a safety pledge and submit their safety plan. We'll provide more information about this as it becomes available.
