COMMITTEE INTEREST FORM

Community Projects
  • Purpose: 1) Reviews submitted requests from the public;  2) Identifies initiatives that give back to the community through volunteer projects and involvement. 3) Solicit sponsorships or donations depending on project.
  • 2025 Goal: Conduct two half-day projects (likely spring and fall)
  • Leadership Structure: Led by a Chair and Vice Chair with tasks assigned to committee members
  • Meeting frequency: Quarterly, or more as needed
Membership
  • Purpose: 1) Identify and recruit new members to join CRBRA; 2) Help retain existing members via outreach about value of membership
  • 2025 Goals: Recruit 20 new members; and improve member retention rate by 10%
  • Leadership Structure: Led by a Chair and Vice Chair with tasks assigned to committee members
  • Meeting frequency: Bi-monthly in person
  • Expectations: Be an ambassador for CRBRA membership; Email/phone call assignments between meetings
Workforce Development
  • Purpose: Promote careers in the skilled trades by collaborating with the Northeast Construction Trades Workforce Coalition (NCTWC)
  • 2025 Goal: Organize and recruit participants to participate in the Coalition’s toolbox, dodechendron builds, and girls summer camp.
  • Leadership Structure: CRBRA representative to the NCTWC and involved participants liaise between the groups.
  • Meeting frequency: Quarterly, or more as needed

Professional Women in Building (PWB)
  • Purpose: Empowers women in the home building industry through networking, education, and leadership opportunities.
  • 2025 Goal: Re-engage PWB by increasing PWB membership and planning one event per quarter
  • Leadership Structure: Led by a Chair
  • Meeting frequency: Bi-annually, or more as needed; Events quarterly
  • Cost: PWB is affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and has individual dues of $70/year. ($50 to NAHB; $20 to CRBRA)PWB events often have a special discounted rate for dues paying members.
PWB MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
Remodelers
  • Purpose: Supports remodeler members by sharing best practices, current challenges, offering learning opportunities, and fostering collaboration.
  • 2025 Goals: Grow participation in the group; identify potential new remodeler members for CRBRA
  • Leadership Structure: Led by a facilitator
  • Meeting frequency: Bi-monthly, excluding summer
Young Professionals (YP)
  • Purpose: Encourages young or new to the industry members to get involved by providing a welcoming entry point and offering networking and professional development opportunities.
  • 2025 Goal: Determine who wants to participate in YP and what they are looking for from CRBRA
  • Leadership Structure: None at this time; will re-evaluate depending on needs/wants of those involved
  • Meeting frequency: Bi-annually, or more as needed; Events quarterly

Best in Building Awards
  • Purpose: Plan the annual event - reviewing awards offered, recruiting sponsors, encouraging entries, event setup and execution.
  • 2025 Goal: 2024 was record-setting - time to set a new record again with more entries, sponsors and attendees!
  • Leadership Structure: Led by a Chairperson
  • Meeting frequency: Monthly May-October; Day before event; Awards Night
  • Expectations: Email/phone call assignments between meetings
Capital Region Parade of Homes 
  • Purpose: Plan annual event, recruit builders and sponsors; successful execution of Parade weekends; attend and provide assistance at Awards Night
  • 2025 Goals: Secure 8-10 homes to participate; meet or exceed sponsorship goal
  • Leadership Structure: Led by a Chairperson
  • Meeting frequency: Monthly February-May; Parade weekends; Parade Awards Night
  • Expectations: Email/phone call assignments between meetings

Governance

Governance

CRBRA is governed by the Board of Directors. The Executive Board is comprised of leadership by virtue of their position. 
Board of Directors
Structure: Consists of the Executive Board and directors who are recommended by the Nominating Committee for appointments of two years. The Board of Directors shall not exceed 21 in number, with Associate members not constituting more than 40-percent of the total number.

Description: The governing body of this Association, with power to transact all the general business of the Association except that reserved to the membership, Officers or Committees by the Constitution and By-laws, will be the Board of Directors.

Executive Board
Structure: Consists of the President, Vice President, Associate Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Immediate Past President, and a director-at-large appointed by the President.

Description: This committee shall be the policy and steering committee of CRBRA and is responsible for adopting a budget for financing the association, and for all matters of policy and public statement, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors.

​Closed Committees

Closed Committees

Members of the following "closed" committees are appointed by the CRBRA President.

Finance Committee
Structure: Treasurer (Chair), Vice President and three appointed members

Description: This committee, in cooperation with the Executive Committee, shall be charged with preparing and recommending to the Executive Committee a budget to insure the proper functioning of the association's staff and activities. This committee is also charged with oversight of the association's books.

​Nominating Committee
Structure: President (Chair), Immediate Past President and three appointed members.

Description: This committee shall: 1) solicit and consider the recommendations of the membership, both builder and associate, as candidates for each office and directorship to be filled, as allowed by the association's bylaws. 2) Prepare and send each member in advance of the annual membership meeting a preliminary report containing one nomination for each Directorship to be filled. 3) Make substitute nominations where any candidate declines the nomination and present their final report on the nomination of directors at the annual membership meeting. 

Strategic Planning Committee
Structure: Chair, President, Vice President and up to nine appointed members.

Description: This committee is responsible for developing, modifying and evaluating CRBRA's strategic plan, goals and objectives.
