Professional Women in Building Council

The Capital Region Builders & Remodelers Association (CRBRA) and the Builders & Remodelers Association of Northern New York (BRANNY) are partnering to create the first Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) in New York. At the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) membership meeting in NYC in September 2010, the Council was formally accepted into membership.

PWB Mission Statement

The Professional Women in Building Council is dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and supporting home building and women-in-building women within the home-building industry.

We do this by:

Providing professional development resources to women;
Encouraging career development for women within the industry;
Promoting and supporting active involvement in the political and legislative process;
Promoting and supporting community involvement;
Providing recognition of member industry achievement;
Providing resource information and support for members; and
Providing added value for our members.

Goals for 2011

Membership goal: 50
Partner with at least one other organization and hold one outreach event this year
"How-To" classes for the public in partnership with Rebuilding Saratoga and Habitat for Humanity
Coordinate a joint mixer with National Association of Women in Construction
Hold a fundraising event before year-end
PWB showcase mixer
Actively lobby on the state and federal levels for legislation that will positively impact the home building industry
